Rye Street Hospital was built on land given by Sir Walter Gilbey and funded by
voluntary donations.

Grange Paddocks has so far managed to escape development and remains a natural environment.

Now called Cherry Trees, this large house was originally two cottages occupied by gardeners who worked on Tresham Gilbey’s estate.

These houses at the top end of Barrells Down Road are perfectly sited to enjoy views across the playing fields and cricket ground.

Number 47 Barrells Down Road was a former Mission Hall, used in 1944 as an over-spill classroom for evacuee children being taught at Northgate School.
