Thank you for your history of Bishops Stortford.  I lived there in Heath Row from about 1956 to about 1966.  When I have previously looked at Bishops Stortford on the web I have not been able to find much, but your history is a goldmine of information.

I went the to primary school which was part of the Hockerill Teachers College, and each day we would walk in a long crocodile down past the church and left along Stanstead Rd to the boys school in Hockerill where we had our school dinners, and then walked back again.

I always imagined that Hockerill Practising school where I went was the girls half - with the boys half being attached to the hall a short distance down London Road. This hall was also used by All Saints Parish on Stanstead Road for Parish Breakfasts on Sunday mornings after church.  The All Saints Youth group  met there as well, with an occasional Saturday night dance.
